PAINTER David Jones
David is a painter concerned with the formal compositional qualities of: proportion, colour and texture. Recent paintings move away from his linear compositions and are less structured, allowing a freer use of brushwork and colour. Inspiration is from the local landscape, the paintings recall earlier studies of woodland but also draw upon the textures and surfaces of his studio location.

SCULPTOR Sioban Coppinger
Fundamentally a sculptor, Sioban works extensively in cast bronze, silver, welded copper, wax and lead. Drawing is part of Sioban’s toolkit; from pastels and sketchbook work, to intricate process-based prints and pastels.
Commissions have always played an important part of her working life, and she develops new ideas both within, and alongside this discipline. With a bronze casting foundry now up and running and newly refurbished workshops, 2006 promises to be an exciting year for new work and lots of exhibitions!
Sioban’s work can be viewed at the studio throughout the year, by arrangement. |

SCULPTOR Sara Sturgeon
Sara's work is based on the human form. The drawings are all from life, they are often cropped so that although they remain figurative they also have a feeling of abstraction about them. This feeling is then taken through to sculpture, resulting in both lifelike and more abstracted forms.
Drawings in pencil, charcoal and pastel, sculpture in bronze, wood and plaster. |
